Hi ladies, Its July already!
We have had another exciting month with lots of activities, discussions, wellbeing talks and connecting over lunch.
Let me update you on our mystery tour which was a secret for over a month. A group of ladies were picked up at different destinations around Enfield and set off on their trip, the destination of Bognor Regis was revealed enroute.
They were all excited to go as most of the ladies had not been before. There was not a lot to see initially when they arrived. And some were disappointed but in true SIMs style the day was turned around. They enjoyed exploring the area and spent lots of time on the beach as it was a lovely day the scenery was beautiful, and they had lots of fun together as usual and thoroughly enjoyed the best food when at the seaside (fish and chips). The journey back was eventful to say the least with urgent dashes for the loo and traffic jams that got them back to Enfield nearer bedtime. “We still had a laugh!”
This month we learn how to do decopatch, it reminds me of paper Mache.. But not as messy. We used wooden tiles of different shapes and decorated boxes using decoupage paper and serviettes. The results were lovely, and we created sets of heat mats and coasters using this technique. Just looking around the room to see what I can cover in tissue paper… not sure the boss will be amused though. Our craft sessions are always great for learning new things but its the conversation that is the most informative. You get to learn so much more about others.
“Well done ladies on the fabulous creations you have made!!”
ZZZZZZ
Iyshea and her colleague from NHS Enfield, Barnet & Haringey talking therapies came in to talk to us about difficulties with sleep, this was a concern for some women of the group. We learned about the benefits of good sleep, what causes difficulty to sleep and how it impacts us, the stages that we go through whilst asleep, sleep hygiene tips and how we can relax our minds. It was a wonderful session had by all thank you.
I did not realise sleep was so important and without it it's quite difficult to function.
All of the talking made us hungry so some of our ladies went off for a roast the local Carvery……another eventful day but that story is for another time. ( Mrs M)
Anyway looking forward to our next catch up who knows what Sims will bring us
